On The Bit - Literary Children’s Fund

This year, I had a sweet reader who re-upped her annual subscription and she gave me way too much money. When I told her so, she said, “No I didn’t! You do something good with that money!” I promised her I would.

Later, I was thinking about how when I was a kid, we couldn’t afford horses or lessons, but every once in a while, my mom would buy me a copy of a horse magazine when we were at the grocery store and that was my small connection to the horse world.

Nila’s donation gave me the idea to use it to go toward giving an annual subscription to a child who is horse crazy but whose family maybe doesn’t have the means to get something like that for them, and so the On The Bit Children’s Literary Fund was officially created!

I’m so very excited to be able to use OTB to do good things like this and give back to kids who remind me of myself when I was a little girl. If you feel inclined, you can either give whatever amount you like (Even a penny! Every bit helps!) or you can donate a full $28.80 to give a year’s subscription to a child that would like to have a connection to the equestrian world who may otherwise be unable to.

Our mission at OTB is to bring positivity to the equestrian industry in any way that we can. I know we can do that with your help because we have the best readers and support!
